SAUGE, the “Société d’Agriculture Urbaine Généreuse et Engagée” association, seized the opportunity offered by the Bobigny City Council to occupy an industrial wasteland to set up an ephemeral urban farm called “La Prairie du Canal”. Through various activities, the Prairie du Canal aims to disseminate sustainable urban agriculture practices to city dwellers (the inhabitants of Bobigny and Paris métropole). Its aim is above all educational and recreational rather than a productive one.
